The festival of Cho Eui Seon Sa commemorates the birth of a man who is respected as a quintessential master of the art of tea making, and as a person who rejuvenated the arts of poetry, calligraphy, painting, tea making, and Taoism. He was selected as the cultural figure for May 1997. The festival is held at his birthplace in Wangsan-ri, Samhyang-myeon, Muan County on April 5 th (lunar calendar).

In this event, which commemorates the birth of Cho Eui Seon Sa, who was respected highly as the master of the 5 arts of cultural development: poetry, calligraphy, painting, tea making, and Taoism, the Younsan Festival show, gil nori, poetry reading competition, performance of traditional Korean music, Namdo folk song choir, children's tea serving competition, traditional tea serving costume show, academic seminars, lighting of Cho Eui lamps, and the world tea exhibition.
