Gang Yonghwan

Gang Yonghwan was born in Gyochon-ri, Muan-eup, Muan-gun in 1863. He was very talented as a kid so he learned pansori from I Nalchi, one of the important figures in Seopyeonje. It is also known that he had a deep understanding of Chinese classics. He became a renowned pansori singer along with Jeong Jeongyeol and I Dongbaek and was recommended by a crown in the court to teach singing to Yi Kang, the fifth son of Gojong. It is also the father of Korean tranditional opera(Changgeuk).

Gang Taehong

Hyosan Gang Taehong was born in Gyochonri, Muan-eup, Muan-gun on March 3, 1893 as a son of Gang Yonghwan. He learned Gukak(Korean traditional music) from his father. His father passed away when he was eight and struggled with poverty, but he never stop learning Gukak. He left his hometown and stay afoot in Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do and taught gukak to his students for more than thirty tears in Gyeongju and Dalseong. He is especially famous for his gayageum sanjo(free-style solo) and byeongchang(singing and playing at the same time).

Gang Namjung

Gang Namjung was born in 1896. He learned pansori from his uncle, Gang Yonghwan as a kid. It is said that he was good-looking and had a clear voice. He joined Joseon Folk Music Theater and learned from O Taeseok, Song Mangap and Jeong Jeongyeol. He was a renowned pansori singer in Joseon, along with Im Bangul, and especially famous for Sugungga and Heungbuga
