Dodeoksa Temple, which is located on the outskirts of Umyeongsan Mountain, was build by Kim Duchang, the widow of Park Giju. She was a devoted buddhist, so first, she built a small house and a kitchen and invoted Monk Cheongjeong to start a temple. At that time, the name of the temple was Myosangsa. Later, her youngest daughter and several buddhists build the main building and shirines. In Augusst, 1964, the temple was registered by the Ministry of Culture. Now Monk Jeonggwan is the chief priest and the name has been changed to Dodeoksa Temple.
